Bread, Eggs, Milk?? What??

February 18, 2010

A funny thing happened on the way to the grocery store. I happened to just have a need for some small items already planned, however an impending storm appeared to have everyone interested in going to the store at the last possible minute to stock up on a few things, or a lot of things! It was a zoo in there!

What I don’t understand is why bread, eggs and milk always seem to be the items everyone jokes about getting, but what really does run out. I mean really….I have had at least 4-5 family sit down dinners in the last week and I can honestly say none of them involved bread, milk, or eggs?? Does it affect my breakfast, yes, but how many of us are really watching snow fall and cooking eggs and eating cereal?

So I don’t really understand the rush on bread, eggs and milk when a snow storm comes and we are snowed in. So it got me thinking, we seem to prepare very well for a coming snow storm, especially a blizzard like the last two we had this year. But what do we do to prepare for the coming business storm?

What…Business Storm? What are you talking about? Well let us consider how 2009 was, probably one of the worst years any of us have experienced in our business careers. However, most of us are survivors. We are still in business, we are going strong and we plan on growing and improving in 2010. So what are we doing to prepare and CREATE that growth in 2010? The coming business storm of 2010 that will help propel us back to where we all want to be and where we know we should be.

You buy bread, eggs and milk, but do you prep your business for growth? What is your plan? Do you have a plan? How are you monitoring it?

I am not a master planner, but at FASTSIGNS we do believe in helping companies to Realize Their Full Potential. How do we do that? Well we help you achieve your business goals one sign at a time.

Take a business goal for 2010 – I want to generate more awareness for my business through a coming expo (such as the 2010 Business and Technology Expo). So how do you do that and how do we help achieve that goal? Take a look at some work we have done for clients and see if this could help you.

If that’s not one of your goals, perhaps a re-branding is, or a new website, or a new product? Promote it, produce it, sell it! We can help others to catch the vision and keep on buying.

So don’t go buy bread, eggs and milk for a coming snow storm…..get your goals in line, have a plan for 2010, and if visual needs tie in with that goal, we would love to have a conversation.

Social Media – Web 2.0 – Are you confused yet??

October 5, 2009

Facespace, MyBook, Twitterdee, Twitterdum?? Any of this make sense to you? I must say I thought Flikr was a person with a rather unpleasant gesture and certainly not my best interest in mind. If it wasn’t that, it was probably my son digging for something I hope he doesn’t “flikr” at me.

Okay, Okay, I know that is not right, but what is Web 2.0 marketing and can it be used for your business?

I didn’t know the answer to these questions until I made an investment in my business (FASTSIGNS – www.fastsigns.com/444) and myself to learn.

Inside Out Creative is hosting their 3rd Web 2.0/social media marketing seminar in York. Take a look at this and determine how it can help you connect and stay connected with customers, prospects, and friends. There is a strategy and Kim Walsh-Phillips and her team do an awesome job of teaching that and introducing you and your business to social media.

As a special thank you to those reading this blog, the first interested party that emails me directly after reading this will be able to attend this seminar on Oct 29th ($249 value) at no cost.

Watch this video, you will see why isocial media is not going anywhere.

Social Media is not going away and you don’t want to be left behind. Read my first blog in July to see why we are using it to grow our business. Thanks for reading and by doing so acknowledging social media works!!

Who is this calling….my credit card processor???

August 18, 2009

Why would you be surprised at the moment of realization that the person on the other end of the line was actually your credit card processing representative? Well primarily because they seem to have the reputation of being very unresponsive and building no relationships with clients. They typically come in, set you up, train you a little, then turn you loose, and you never hear from them again until renewal time. Credit card processing representatives seem to disappear after closing a deal almost as if a black hole swallows them up, never to be found.

So why am I bringing this up, did I have a bad experience? Do I know others that had a bad experience? I am glad you asked that question.

It doesn’t have to be this way, there is no need for black holes to take away your right to customer service and high quality relationship with someone that is providing you a service and receiving revenue from you regularly. I am proud to say that I have no worries in this area and that when my relationship builder calls, I gladly answer and visit with him and we talk REGULARLY. So who is it that is so different, who is it that actually cares about you and your business:

Dwight Honecker and Marilyn Powell with Nationwide Payment Solutions (www.NationwidePaymentSolutions.com)

From the moment you meet Dwight or Marilyn you know you are going to be dealing with someone that truly cares about your business and wants to ensure you that you have proper service, technical support, and most importantly a relationship with your credit card processor. This is not the standard in the industry, and this is why they are so successful. Upon switching our service we received numerous calls just checking to see how everything was going. We received a call when the first statement came in to be sure we understood everything, and we regularly receive calls or emails thanking us for our business and asking how they can improve. Now that is service.

So what is Nationwide Payment Solutions? No it’s not Nationwide on your side, that is insurance.
Nationwide Payment Solutions, NPS, offers credit, debit and check card processing, electronic check acceptance (including check 21), electronic medical claims/authorizations, e-commerce solutions and electronic gift and loyalty card marketing programs (www.NationwideGiftandLoyalty.com). They also provide several special industry programs for governments, schools and universities, utility and oil companies.

One of the newest developments for Nationwide Payment Solutions is a very unique solution called MuniciPAY (www.Municipay.com). MuniciPay allows governments to offer their citizens the convenience of making payments via credit/debit cards, and prevents the municipality from absorbing the fees associated with card acceptance. Citizens can now pay car registrations, obtain fishing licenses and pay property taxes with a credit or debit card. So if you are involved with a municipality or government body, this would be an excellent introduction for Dwight and Marilyn that could potentially save the municipality quite a bit.

So what does this have to do with FASTSIGNS? Well Dwight and Marilyn have used FASTSIGNS for their exhibiting needs with a large table sign for when they showcase their business. FASTSIGNS has also produced for them labels for their processing terminals and for the binders that they use for their initial presentations and discussions with the clients. They also wanted to be able to brand their terminals, as well as be sure that customers can always reach them and know how to reach them immediately. Once again showcasing their superior customer service.

Another important factor, FASTSIGNS uses them for our processing and has saved over 20% from our previous processor when we opened our business. This may not be your result, but Dwight will be the first to tell you, if it is not a fit you won’t do business together and he is okay with that. He really wants to ask a lot of questions, learn more about your business and be sure that they can help you, or he won’t do business with you. Superior product, Superior Service, Superior People. Nationwide Payment Solutions.

If you have questions about your processing, or haven’t heard from your processing representative since you received your terminal, give Dwight and Marilyn a call today – they are truly relationship builders.
